“Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.” (Mark 5:19) Despite the person’s desire to follow Him, Jesus did not respond according to his wish. Instead Jesus asked him to witness the mighty power of God in his hometown. From this case, we can see that the will of God is different from man’s logical mind. The prophet Samuel had originally chosen the son of Jesse as the king of Israel, for he appeared to be tall and mighty. But the LORD said to Samuel: “Do not judge from his appearance or from his lofty stature, because I have rejected him. Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the LORD looks into the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7) God gives each individual a different vocation. It is entirely a gift of grace without connection to any credit. Among my companions, many of them are well educated and with good moral standards, but God has not chosen them to take up missionary work. Nevertheless, any path to holiness can lead to the threshold of heaven. As it was mentioned in the book 1 of Peter: “But you are "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises" of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were "no people" but now you are God's people; you "had not received mercy" but now you have received mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9-10) So regardless of whether we are at home, monasteries, factories, offices or markets, as long as our hearts are united with Christ. That is the best way to witness God’s presence for we are merely His instruments.
