“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (Luke 11:23) “If Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?” Jesus used this logic to prove that with God’s power he can drive the demon away and also pointed out that, “the kingdom of God has come upon you.” “No servant can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” The relationship between devil and God will never exist together under the same place. Therefore there is no middle line. For those who do not go with devil will naturally follow Jesus. Although they still have yet to encounter God, their hearts belong to the Lord, as Jesus said: “For whoever is not against you is for you.” (Luke 9:50) Jesus explained this to John that for those who drove the devils away in the his name, are entering the threshold and becoming his disciples even though they are not yet the disciples of Jesus. Jesus affirmed that the success of the devil is because they know how to unite together. This is actually God’s essence. Now the devil uses the same way to oppose God and hurting human. Jesus also mentioned that human need to return to the time when they were created and to live in complete communion in God the Holy Trinity. Therefore, Jesus prayed before his death: “Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us.” (John 17:21) Only if there is unity in communion, there is hope. God is communion and unity. Therefore, Jesus is only present where there is harmony and friendship: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20) If we do not choose the path of “love”, we will choose to walk in the opposite path of God.
