The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." (John 3:8) After Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit was to carry on with the mission of the world: "I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. (John 14:25-26) How did the Holy Spirit work? Please listen to Peter’s testimony: “God raised this Jesus; of this we are all witnesses. Exalted at the right hand of God, he received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father and poured it forth, as you both see and hear. (Acts 2:32-33). All of Peter’s courage and wisdom were granted by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit not only teaches, but also condemn the disloyalty of man: “And when he comes he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because they do not believe in me; righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned. (John 16:8-11) Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit is meant to purify. He is assisting the Church on her way to togetherness and unity:”The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need. (Acts 4:32-35)
