“Though Jesus Christ was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.” – 2 Cor 8: 9 This scripture is taken from Gospel acclamation. Christ is the second person of the Trinity, full of life. After He has taken the mortal body, He had automatically taken the limitations of the body. St. Paul said, Jesus “has become impoverished". Christ is rich. Of course, this is not by means of materialism, because Jesus had said, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." He also requested the disciples in missionaries, “eat whatever they give you!” In the missionary work of Legion of Mary, materialism is prohibited for member’s interaction with outsiders. When I was a youth member of Legion of Mary, I have also met difficult moments, for example, we could not use candies to attract other children to attend our conducted activities. The only way was to treat one another with true love. A piece of fable story: One day, a generous person, hoping that the pigeons in the cage can be set free to enjoy nature, those pigeons love the lives in the cage and would not leave because no matter what method he used, there was no way that he could expel them. At last, he became a pigeon himself, and was the first one to fly out from the cage. This is what Jesus has achieved.
