"Whoever loves me will keep my word!” (John 14:23) Jesus had been together with his disciples for three years. He understood their feelings and assumed that the news of his death would impact his disciples greatly; therefore He consoled them and said: “I will not leave you orphans.” Judas, not the Iscariot, felt deeply touched when he heard Jesus’ caring and loving words. He hoped that other people could also hear the same message of love, so he said to Jesus, "Master, (then) what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered, "Whoever loves me will keep my word!” What Jesus meant was whoever lived by his spirit would be regarded as his disciple. This message had simply surpassed the narrow view of the national ideology at that time: Salvation belongs exclusively to the Jews "Whoever loves me will keep my word!” “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” “Love” and “Obedient” are equally important. As Jesus followed the Father’s will completely in each of His words and deeds. “Father! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!”
