“Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.” (John 6:57) It is a blessing when we can accept the teaching of the Gospel and receive the Holy Eucharist. However, if we neglect to carry out the mission of God, this blessing will unable to help us. “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?' Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.” (Matthew 7:21-23) Let us listen to Jesus and how he spoke about Judas Iscariot’s betrayal during the last supper: “And yet behold, the hand of the one who is to betray me is with me on the table; for the Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.” (Luke 22:21-22) Judas has been called by Jesus and tried hard to follow His footprint, in the end he failed to resist from greed and betrayed Jesus over thirty pieces of silver. The Gospel of Matthew and Mark added on the words for Jesus, “The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.” (Matthew 26:24) The will of God is to successfully live out the spirit of purity and fraternal love. As long as we are willing and place our confidence in Him, God will always be happy to help us out.
