“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17) Unfortunately, “The light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil.” (John 3:19) God is not willing to see humans become depraved. However, if humans do choose to fall from virtue, no one can be blamed but for themselves. Jesus is the Word of God. His words bestow upon humans the real life. Life in God is “Whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24) Therefore, we cannot take them lightly and turn a blind eye to the messages of God. Jesus spoke seriously to us, “Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day.” (John 12:48) Jesus emphasized, “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.” (Matthew 7:24-27) Salvation comes from Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and it also comes from the Word of God that we have to act out.
