“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 18:4) Little children has an innocence of heart, therefore has the favor of Jesus. Jesus himself lived in the same way. “learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;” (Matt. 11:29) “Humble of heart” includes not to judge: “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.” (Matt. 7:1-2) Jesus knows that we are easy on ourselves and hard on others, therefore he appropriately provided us with this parable to teach us: “Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?” (Luke 6:41) How do we enter into the new life brought by Jesus? “And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life." (John 3:14-15) When we acknowledge the “love” which came from God filled our hearts, we would then love every one just like crucified Christ on the cross. At that time, it will not be important to be great or small.
