“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force.” (Matthew 11:12) From the days of John the Baptist, the word of God has already specifically appeared on earth. In Genesis, God’s punishment and prediction to the serpent also gradually came true. “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) The offspring of this woman is Jesus Christ and we are the descendants of Jesus Christ. It is therefore not difficult to understand that if humans long to return to the “Garden” of Pure Land, they have to whole-heartedly go back towards God. The only way out is to shake off the fetters of being self-centered and resist all external temptations, especially the traps set by the devil. As The Lord’s Prayer says “do not lead us into temptation”, that is the principle. “Taking it by force” including heartfelt praying, fasting and receiving the sacraments constantly, especially the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Thank you Lord, He promised to be with us till the end. The psalmist also affirmed, “sky seldom blue, flowers seldom blossom, but His love is always there.” As the saying goes: “A perfect Jade needs carving and polishing.” To bear the life of God to perfection, should we not purify the individual’s state of mind and thought?
