This year the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong Diocesan Commission for Hospital Pastoral Care will celebrate its twentieth anniversary at the Auditorium of the Hong Kong Polytechnic. Over the past two decades, the generous support and contribution from Rev. Dominic Chan Vicar General is highly affirmative. The selfless dedication and hard work of the Commission along with the pastoral care workers are also part of the secret to its success.

For the March 4th celebration, Father Moses and myself will sing together a Latin hymn "Panis Angelicus". The Chinese translation for it is food for angels. Without Christ (the Eucharist), where shall mankind go?

Father Moses will also perform a solo called "Holy City" which reminds us that New Jerusalem is our heavenly home and the ultimate aim for mankind. As for myself, I will choose to sing "You Raise Me Up" (Lord, please support and assist me!) as implied in the name, we need to walk with Christ.

When people are feeling sick or in agony, they tend to feel most lonely. Lying on their sick bed, the presence of Pastoral care workers is like a drop of dew in the drought. May the Lord bless this group of visible angels who work silently.

"Lord only you can raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; Lord you raise me up to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; Lord you raise me up to more than I can be."

May the above blessings and prayers be shared with all the Pastoral care workers and one another.
