Jesus responded, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me.” John 21:22 An old Chinese saying teaches that one should not compare oneself with others. In fact, a fellow classmate at my old school now has a Doctorate of Theology. I thank the Lord I have not let this affect my self esteem. In this human family, it is our ability to complement and compensate the imperfection in each other that makes us perfect as a whole. Only when we give freely what we have (whether it’s money or time), and we are devoted to serving each other, then we are truly rich. For it is then that we have God’s love.
