A mother of three in Philippines was pregnant again. She was a very optimistic lady initially. However, she became worn-out by her three naughty children. One day, the eldest of her children said to the mother, “We promise to be good from now on.” These words calmed the mother’s nerves. The three children kept their promise and helped with the chores diligently. The due date was fast approaching. Everyone was excitedly awaiting the coming of the fourth member into the family. With one week remaining, the mother suddenly got into an emergency condition, which resulted in the intrauterine death of the fetus. The three children were heartbroken. The father said to them, “Your fourth brother, though didn’t live to come into our family, have been living amongst us for 9 months. He changed every one of us in the family. Didn’t you promise your mother to be well-behaved because of your unborn brother? Truly, your brother has already accomplished his mission in life.” Every one of us has been commissioned by God – to carry out the different missions assigned to us.
