According to the Gospel of Mark, the first woman who witnessed Christ’s Resurrection was Mary Magdalene, from whom He had driven out seven demons. Although Magdalene did not lead a virtuous and moral life before she followed Jesus, she eventually became a decent and chaste woman. She was also the first person who witnessed Christ’s Resurrection. Jesus was totally disappointed by the two disciples who were on their way to Emmaus. However, Jesus still explained to them patiently about the revelation of Messiah. Jesus once said, “I come, not for the righteous men but for the sinners.” Therefore we should not feel hopeless and give up on ourselves because we are sinners. If we repent and seek for God’s mercy, He will definitely forgive all our sins.
