“For you are all one in Jesus Christ.” (Gal 3:28) St. Paul made this statement in his letter to all churches in Galatia, “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” ‘Clothed with Christ’ was literally ‘put on Christ’. ‘Put on Christ’ was not the alteration of physical appearance. What St. Paul really meant was the conversion of our faith to Christ, to His teaching. Whence every consideration one ponders is in accord with the Will of God, he becomes one with Christ. As a matter of fact, those who live with this same spirituality are all one (in Christ). We need to learn, adjust and improve to achieve the ‘state of all be one’. In addition to endeavour and strive to do our best, we need God’s grace and His blessing. This was how Jesus specially asked His Father in His last supper with the apostles, “Father, may they all be one as You are in me and I in You.” This ‘High Priestly Prayer’ was the words Jesus addressed directly to the Father as our intercessor. It was said after He had established the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. From this we can see that man can accomplish nothing without God’s assistance.
