“Be always on the watch, and pray.” (Luke 21:36) Jesus admitted to Pilate that he is a King, but his kingdom is not of this world. Jesus also said, “For this I was born, and for this I came into this world.” Since the beginning of time, mankind has lived in the good graces of the Lord. Then men acted in a way that is contrary to God’s will, and they became lost sheep. Jesus is the shepherd of the lost sheep. A person’s soul is created by God, in the image of God. Therefore the relationship between God and man is an intimate one. Oftentimes we try to juggle too many things in our lives such as career, family and other habits, causing us to neglect our spiritual lives. The result is that our relationship with God grows farther apart. Prayer allows us to focus on our relationship with God. At critical moments in Jesus’ life, such as when choosing His disciples, or before His passion, he spent a long time in prayer. Jesus wishes for us to always pray. It means that we should not forget God in everything that we do, and we must trust God’s blessing.
