“Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.” (Luke 12:48) These Holy Words is similar to the idea of “your returns will be higher if you work harder”. However, the difference is that the latter idea means that you may lessen your workload if you desire less returns. Nonetheless, Jesus reminded us that “much will be required of the person entrusted with much” means that we should make good use of the blessings God had given us. Following Jesus’ footsteps is not a task of will. Jesus knows we tend to take the easier path, hence he once stressed, God’s kingdom needed to be taken by force. Yet we need not be afraid because God had already given us enough blessings to take up this task, the question is: are we trying our best? We may not believe that God would have high expectations of us. But the fact is: every one of us is God’s children, why would He not provide us the best?
