Sr. Emmanuel is a member of the Beatitudes Community. She was born in 1947 in France and in 1976 joined the Beatitudes. She has been serving in Medjugorje since 1989.

Although she was born in a Catholic family, she smattered on most Catholic doctrines. At 17-year-old, she lived by the principle “man will conquer nature”. When she was 25, she went to India for the way and found a Hindu Master to explain her life to her. However, the related constellation’s theory is contradictory to the “freedom” that she sought. Thus, she departed from the Hindu Master before he finished explaining.

As she had been immersed in fortune-telling games such as the ouija board in the past, her spirit became very melancholic and so negative that, after she returned to France, she thought of committing suicide. (The devil’s strategy is to lead human to walk into the valley of death!)

In fact, she decided to end her life at 5 p.m. on the Feast day of Pentecost (1973). Her sister already sensed that she acted strange and therefore said to her: “Two days from now the Feast day of Pentecost will arrive; you should come to join the “Renewal in the Holy Spirit” prayer meeting to be held in our parish.” She did not intend to participate, but as it would be the last time to see her sister, she reluctantly attended.

Around 4:00 p.m., a slightly obese woman came in. Her name is Andree Thomae, a Protestant. She received an inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and said: “A friend in your midst has chosen the road of death. She is deceived by the devil and is obsessed with board games like ouija. The devil has fettered her but Jesus Christ has the ability to liberate her.”

Finally, her spirit was completely released under the prayers, blessings and laying of hands by the participants. She fell in love with Jesus Christ. The time when the prayer ended was promptly 5:00 p.m. sharp.
