The Month of the Rosary will soon come to an end. It is believed that we have got used to reciting the Holy Rosary. This indeed is the daily prayer the Blessed Mother very much expects her children to say.

Every cycle of the Holy Rosary consists of, inter alia, 50 Hail Mary’s. It is a great challenge for most of us to complete the 50 Hail Mary’s by repeatedly saying the same prayer. Notwithstanding that we can at every decade contemplate the important episodes in the life of Jesus in salvation, the lack of patience is nevertheless the greatest enemy for us.

If we are not allowing ourselves sufficient time to pray, any prayer would seem onerous and we would be prompted to a loose conclusion.

When we are meeting old friends, time always seems to be passing very fast for us. Similarly, we should have the same feeling when we are encountering with God.

In order to achieve the purpose to be with God, we would have to lay down a time frame for the prayer, making it like 20 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes, etc., and within the designated time perseverance is always required for thoroughness.

For the prayer, we would have to pray for the intercession of the Holy Spirit first. Then we follow the rhythm and to be carried off by the Holy Spirit into the meditation or recitation of the prayer. In this connection, praying before the Blessed Sacrament is particularly effective and beneficial.

Apart from the weekly perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for 48 hours, starting every Friday morning and into the Sunday morning that followed, our parish has recently commenced the perpetual adoration from Monday to Thursday as well, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, wherein cenacle prayer is also held. Every faithful is welcome to join.
