Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." (John 6:10) After hearing the breaking news from Joseph, Jesus and the apostles came to relax at the city of Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee. Now the Passover was near, Jesus went up on the mountain and proclaimed the Kingdom of God to the crowd, He had also cured a large number of sick people. The gospel has documented the concerns of the apostles: “This is the wilderness, please dismiss the crowd and ask them to go to the village to buy food. “The amusing part was with Jesus’ response: “They don’t have to leave, you could feed them here”. Jesus had requested His apostles to resolve the problem of the crowd. The gospel of John has its exceptional style; Jesus disclosed the reluctance of His disciples by questioning Philip: "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" Afterward, John had added his explanation: “He was saying that to test Philip, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do.” All the food that the disciples could get was five loaves of bread and two fish! “Have the people sat down!” meant that the people didn’t have to wait on lines, and He asked the disciples to hand delivered the food to them instead. “Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated”. As to John, this was an indication in advance of the sacrament of the Holy Eucharistic that Jesus would establish in a later day. Jesus told His disciples in person: “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be wasted." Don’t you think Jesus was an environmental pioneer? The leftover fragments had filled twelve baskets full. The number “12” represented the 12 Tribes of Israel, and also the 12 apostles of Jesus. With the blessings that came upon by Jesus, the new and the old testaments had pertained and become full.
