“But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.” (John 16:32) Jesus said, “I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father." It is thus evident that Jesus was actually not alone. Jesus is the Word of God and a second member of the Holy Trinity. He, the Father and the Holy Spirit are the same god. After His incarnation, He seemed an independent entity but the Father and the Holy Spirit were not separated from Him. According to Fathers of the Church, the doctrine of the Holy Trinity was not revealed in the Old Testament. As recorded in the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament, the baptism ceremony clearly shows the important meaning of the Holy Trinity as one: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). The idea is that the disciples should baptize people so that the newly baptized can belong to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It indicates that after the baptism, believers will consecrate themselves to the Holy Trinity, becoming a possession of God, and each one has a special relation with Him. The Father is the grace of faith and the source of all salvation, the Son accepts the baptized into His Church so that they will become parts of His mystical body, and the Holy Spirit gives the greatest gift to the baptized (according to the footnotes of Studium Biblicum version of the Bible). Jesus brought to people a new culture: the relationship of loving each other is like that of the Holy Trinity. Therefore, when loneliness is about to occupy our hearts, please say together with Jesus: “But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.”
