“You follow me." (John 21:22) When Jesus predicted that Peter would lay down his life for the Lord, Peter then asked out of curiosity, "Lord, what about John?" Jesus gave Peter and us a classical answer, "What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern is it of yours? You follow me." “You follow me." also refers to us. Perhaps we like to make comparison with others as well? John also humorously added his personal insight: ‘So the word spread among the brothers that “that disciple would not die.”’ He continued to explain: ‘but Jesus had not told him that he would not die, just said “What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern is it of yours?”’ With his heart united to Jesus, John (‘The one who had also reclined upon Jesus’ chest during the supper and said, "Master, who is the one who will betray You?"’), to others it was gossip, and did not put into the heart, because he only lives for Christ! “You follow me." John did it and also Peter has done. Now is our turn!
