‘For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them.’ ( Matthew 18:20 ) Jesus used to pray alone by himself to the Father in the solitudes at the dawn. However, Jesus also would like to pray with us. He promised that as long as we pray in His name, the Father would answer our prayer in anything. ‘Whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.’ ( Matthew 18:19 ) Therefore, the key is to pray in unison with the same intention among ourselves. In the parable of the vine, we can understand the meaning of ‘praying in unison’. ‘I am the vine, and you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. ( John 15:5 ) We understand the will of God better, have more willingness to work with others, and are more inspired to evangelize only with the presence of God. Klaus Hemmerle, a German bishop and theologian, said, ‘It is more important to work with others than to work alone; although you have enough ability, acting in unison is more amazing than acting solo.’
