“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.” (Matthew 1:23)

These words of God came from the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14), and were used by the angel to show Joseph that the child conceived by Mary was God's promised savior.

Let us now listen carefully to the words that the angel said to the Holy Mother :
“Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28)

The grace of the Holy Mother came directly from God's love of mankind.

“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”(Luke 1:30)   

God has, in the progress of Israelite history, laid the plan of salvation for the entire mankind.

“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.”(Luke 1:35)

The work of the Holy Spirit was to enable the Word become the savior in blood and flesh.
Elizabeth was also moved by the Holy Spirit and praised the Holy Mother :
“Most blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached our ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.”(Luke 1:42-44)

John, because of the visit of the Holy Mother, was blessed by Jesus who was within the womb of the Holy Mother.

Human is blessed because the Holy Mother was willing to bear the mission which God gave to her : “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”
