“Whoever receives me, receives not me but the one who sent me.” (Mark 9:37) Who is Jesus? He is incarnated as the word of God, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) He is the Son of God: John the Baptized witnessed, “Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.” (John 1:34) The angel Gabriel said to Mary, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:30-33) Jesus is the Son of God, but he will always place his Father as the first priority. At the age of twelve, he stayed in the Temple for three days. When His mother found him, he only said, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?’ (Luke 2:49) The focus of Jesus’ missionary is to let others attribute towards the Father in glory, “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” (Luke 10:16) This is expressing the same ideas recorded by Mark, “Whoever receives me, receives not me but the one who sent me.” Jesus has lived out his life completely for the glory of the Father. Whenever we act out our best according to God’s will, it is actually the greatest form of glory to the Father.
