"My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it." (Luke 8:21) Jesus himself is the Word of God made flesh. Whoever listens to him is listening to God the Father who sent him. “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24) When we live according to the will of God, acting out the word of God, our lives and the life of God would combine into one. Our relationship would be like brothers and sisters. Otherwise, “Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:26) Therefore, “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.” (Matt. 7:24-25) Thank God – when we conscientiously live out the plan which God has prepared for us, then John had the following explanation: “For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.” (John 3:34) God loves every one of us like his brother. He does not wish us to lose our way. It can be said that he even wishes that we would remedy our lives in the Holy Spirit, journeying together on our path to the altar of God our Father.
