“Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20) Jesus told the disciples positively: “I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power 'to tread upon serpents' and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you.” However, Jesus reminded his disciples what to rejoice: “rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Jesus’ disciples are actually citizens of the kingdom of God. To be the citizens of the kingdom, Jesus also guided us: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:3) “Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:10) At the same time, acting out righteousness and doing the will of God are also essential elements: “I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:20) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21) It seems like it is a difficult task, but God the Father wishes that we will finally reach the shore beyond: “Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) One part cultivation, one part harvest!
