恭讀聖若望福音　8:1-11

那時候，耶穌上了橄欖山。清晨，他又來到聖殿；眾百姓都來到他面前；他便坐下教訓他們。
那時，經師和法利塞人，帶來了一個犯姦淫時，被捉住的婦人，叫她站在中間，便向耶穌說：「師父！這婦人是正在犯姦淫時，被捉住的。在法律上，梅瑟命令我們，該用石頭砸死這樣的婦人；可是，你說什麼呢？」他們說這話，是要試探耶穌，好能控告他。
耶穌卻彎下身，用指頭在地上畫字。因為他們不斷地追問，耶穌便站起身來，向他們說：「你們中間誰沒有罪，先向她投石吧！」耶穌又彎下身，在地上寫字。他們一聽這話，就從年老的開始，到年幼的，一個一個地都溜走了，只留下耶穌一人，和站在那裡的婦人。
耶穌於是站起身來，向那婦人說：「婦人！他們在那裡呢？沒有人定你的罪嗎？」
那婦人說：「主！沒有人。」
耶穌向那婦人說：「我也不定你的罪；去吧！從今以後，不要再犯罪了！

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 8:1-11

Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area, and all the people started coming to him, and he sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” They said this to test him, so that they could have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he bent down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one, beginning with the elders. So he was left alone with the woman before him. Then Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”
