As they approached to offer him wine they called out, \u201cIf you are King of the Jews, save yourself.\u201d Above him there was an inscription that read, \u201cThis is the King of the Jews.\u201d \u2014The Gospel of the Lord.<\/p>\n
\nNow one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, \u201cAre you not the Christ? Save yourself and us.\u201d The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, \u201cHave you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.\u201d Then he said, \u201cJesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.\u201d He replied to him, \u201cAmen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.\u201d<\/p>\n
