The "Parish Volunteer Screening Team" has been established for two years.
According to diocese regulations, this Team may be automatically dismissed upon the
resignation of Rev. Paul Tang. Currently, this Team is still carrying out unfinished
tasks, under the supervision of Sr. Pia Liu.
With the exception of a few ministries, most have written up a statement describing
the missions and functions of their respective group.
Selecting "high risk" workers is now of high priority. According to provincial
government legislation, all volunteers who may come into contact with children or
the elderly must have a "Police Clearance Certificate" issued by the police
department.
The Program Screening project promoted by the diocese, meets the requirements as
laid out by this provincial legislation. More importantly, the project aims at
cultivating a group of brothers and sisters who thoroughly understand the purpose of
being pastoral workers. This in turn allows our parish to launch more comprehensive
plans to promote pastoral work.
