Pastor's Corner June 8, 2003 |
Pentecost Sunday |
The Second Worldwide Overseas Chinese Pastoral and Evangelization Conference will
be rescheduled to Los Angeles in U.S.A. from September 2 to September 5. The
Theme is Confucianism ¡V Prelude of Gospel. The boarding Fee is US$320. Interested
parishioners may contact the Parish Office as soon as possible. I wish the
parishioners in our parish were able to arrange themselves in a group to participate.
The Conference was first scheduled to be held from July 1 to July 4 in our parish. It
was cancelled due to the prevalence of SARS in Toronto. I would like to thank Fr.
Joseph Cheng, the president of the North America Chinese Pastoral Organization, for
he has kindly taken over this activity. I would also like to express my appreciation for
our Parish Committee for their hard work in the past six months.
The First Worldwide Overseas Chinese Pastoral & Evangelization Conference chaired
by Fr. Paul Pang was held in Rome, in the year 2000. It was also the Holy Year and
one-hundred-and-two Blessed Chinese Martyrs were canonized.
This kind of conference is a rare opportunity for overseas Chinese parishioners to
gather together, sharing their faith and stories of evangelization. I hope all
parishioners can actively participate.
