Together We Pray
"The best interests of the individual child are the primary consideration in any
question of adoption. The nurturing and rearing of children is a matter of their
welfare, not of the claims of adults, however strongly felt. The full breath of
parenting by a mother and a father together is seen around the world as benefiting
the child, as both play vital roles in the child's social, psychological and educational
development. Children who are being placed for adoption by new parents with whom
they had no earlier tie, therefore, should grow up with a mother and a father."
Aloysius Cardinal Ambrozic Archbishop of Toronto August 7, 2003
Although the Archdiocese of Toronto will not directly participate in the "March for
Marriage" held in Ottawa on August 22, parishioners can still become involved as
individual citizens. To support this event through prayers, we will be celebrating
mass at 8 am that day (9:10 am mass will be cancelled), followed by Exposition of
the Blessed Sacrament for 12 hours until Benediction at 8pm. Parishioners may
register to participate in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at any hour. Please
stay tuned to church announcements for further details.
