恭讀聖路加福音　9:18-22

有一天，耶穌獨自祈禱，門徒同他在一起。他問他們說：「眾人說我是誰？」他們回答說：「有人說是洗者若翰；有人卻說是厄里亞；還有人說是古時的一位先知復活了。」他問他們說：「但你們說我是誰呢？」伯多祿回答說：「天主的受傅者。」但耶穌嚴厲囑咐他們，不要把這事告訴人，說：「人子必須受許多苦，被長老、司祭長和經師們棄絕，並且要被殺；但第三天必要復活。」

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 9:18-22

Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.'” Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.” He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone.
He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

恭讀聖瑪竇福音　9:35-38

那時候，耶穌周遊各城各村，在他們的會堂內施教，宣講天國的福音，治好一切疾病，一切災殃。他一見到群眾，就對他們動了慈心，因為他們困苦流離，像沒有牧人的羊。於是對自己的門徒說：「莊稼固多，工人卻少，所以你們應當求莊稼的主人派遣工人，來收割他的莊稼。」

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 9:35-38

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
