恭讀聖瑪竇福音 18:1-5

那時候，門徒來到耶穌跟前說：「在天國裏究竟誰是最大的？」耶穌就叫一個小孩來，使他站在他們中間，說：「我實在告訴你們：你們若不悔改而變成如同小孩一樣，你們決不能進入天國。所以誰若自謙自卑如同這一個小孩，這人就是天國中最大的。無論誰因我的名字，收留一個這樣的小孩，就是收留我。」

那時候，耶穌看見納塔乃耳向自己走來，就指著他說：「看，這確是一個以色列人，在他內毫無詭詐。」納塔乃耳對他說：「你從那裏認識我呢？」耶穌回答說：「斐理伯叫你以前，當你遠在無花果樹下時，我就看見了你。」納塔乃耳再回答說：「辣彼！你是天主子，你是以色列的君王。」耶穌遂說道：「因為我向你說：我看見了你在無花果樹下，你就信了嗎？你要看見比這更大的事！」又向他說：「我實實在在告訴你們：你們要看見天開，天主的天使在人子身上，上去下來。」

恭讀聖路加福音 9:57-62

耶穌和門徒正走的時候，在路上有一個人對耶穌說：「你不論往那裏去，我要跟隨你。」耶穌對他說：「狐狸有穴，天上的飛鳥有巢；但是人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。」又對另一個人說：「你跟隨我吧！」那人卻說：「主，請許我先去埋葬我的父親。」耶穌對他說：「任憑死人去埋葬自己的死人吧！至於你，你要去傳揚天主的國。又有一個人說：「主！我要跟隨你；但是請許我先去告別我的家人。」耶穌對他說：「手扶著犁而往後看的，不適於天主的國。」
