聖若望一世教宗殉道
恭讀聖若望福音 17:1-11
那時候，耶穌舉目向天說：「父啊！時辰來到了，求你光榮你的子，好叫子也光榮你，因為你賜給了他權柄掌管凡有血肉的人，是為叫他將永生賜給一切你所賜給他的人。永生就是：認識你，唯一的真天主，和你所派遣來的耶穌基督。我在地上，已光榮了你，完成了你所委託我做的工作。父啊！現在，在你面前光榮我吧！賜給我在世界未有以前，我在你前所有的光榮吧！
「我將你的名，已顯示給那些你由世界中所賜給我的人。他們原屬於你，你把他們託給了我，他們也遵守了你的話。現在，他們已知道：凡你賜給我的，都是由你而來的，因為你所授給我的話，我都傳給了他們；他們也接受了，也確實知道我是出於你，並且相信是你派遣了我。我為他們祈求，不為世界祈求，只為你賜給我的人祈求，因為他們原是屬於你的。我的一切都是你的，你的一切都是我的：我因他們已受了光榮。從今以後，我不在世界上了，但他們仍在世界上，我卻到你那裏去。」

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 17:1-11

1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work which you gave me to do; 5 and now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made. 6 “I have manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world; they were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you; 8 for I have given them the words which you gave me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them; I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours; 10 all mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you.
